With looks featuring denim, lace and crochet, the 28th annual Fashion Exposé took the stage in the Talley Student Union Ballroom last April. Put on by the African American Textile Society and open to student designers across the Triangle, the event is the longest-running fashion show at NC State.

This year’s event, themed “Culture and Heritage,” showcased the work of 15 designers — nine novice and six intermediate to experienced — in a runway-style competition. The student-run exposé has evolved since its first iteration in 1997. This year, for the first time, it was part of Fashion Week, a collaboration between the Wilson College of Textiles and the College of Design that united all NC State fashion events into a weeklong celebration of creativity, innovation and design excellence.
