The honors keep rolling in for Katelyn Tuohy and her teammates on the women\u2019s cross country team after winning the individual and team national championships in November. It was the second consecutive NCAA championship for the team, while Tuohy set a course record in winning the individual title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since then, Tuohy, a sophomore from Stony Point, N.Y., has been named the 2023 Honda Award winner for cross country, making her a finalist for the Honda Cup as the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year. Her teammate, junior Kelsey Chmiel, was one of four finalists for the Honda Award after finishing third in the NCAA championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuohy was also named the ACC Women\u2019s Runner of the Year and the National Women\u2019s Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). In March, she was named the ACC Indoor Track Performer of the Year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In January, Tuohy set an NCAA indoor record for the mile, finishing a race in New York against professional runners with a time of 4:24.26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Head Coach Laurie Henes \u201992 was named the ACC Women\u2019s Coach of the Year for the seventh straight season and National Women\u2019s Coach of the Year for the second consecutive year.
